He started to play when he was still just a calf and the flared bell of the instrument was the same size as his little trunk. He liked that the clarinet is the largest woodwind instrument and that its reed is made of elephant grass. At first, he found it difficult to flutter his tongue, but he kept trying. There are currently three recognized species of elephants🐘, two in Africa and one in Asia. They are known for their very large size, immense ears and unique, prehensile trunks. The trunk is used to bring food and water to the mouth of the animal, but also to make and modify sounds, such as the famous trumpeting 🎺 call made by blowing through the trunk. Elephants can also produce sounds that are below 20Hz, frequencies so low the human ear cannot even perceive it. These infrasonic calls are used to communicate over long distances.
