About the Personality Test

As humans, we naturally think about our own personalities, and who we really are. But can something as complex as a person be defined by a small box?

We know that some people seek adventure, novelty, and energy, while others prefer structure and alone time at home. Where do you fit and what are your preferences?

At Plushies Store, we created this What Animal Am I? Personality Test with this idea in mind. The goal is to use the answers you select for each question to create a personality profile and assign the animal that most closely matches it.

What is the What Animal Am I? Personality Test?

The What Animal Am I? Personality Test is a trait-based assessment that compares your answers across six (6) core personality traits and then matches that to a set of animal personality profiles.

As you progress through the questions, the test cumulatively builds a profile of your personality based on your answers. You can also always go back and change your answer if you don't feel strongly about the one you chose.

Personality Test Purpose

People take online personality quizzes for a variety of reasons. Some want to learn more about themselves, others simply find them entertaining, and some are curious to see whether the animal they receive matches the one they already identify with.

The bottom line is there is no one-size-fits-all personality profile and each person is constantly changing and evolving. You may have a sociable, brave dog-based personality today, and as you get old, you become more of a curious, kind fox-based personality. Your results are more a reflection of your current state and should be viewed as a starting point for reflection.

Why Do We Use Animals?

Because humans have shared such a long and close relationship with animals throughout time, we already have a general sense of the traits and characteristics we associate with each one.

Dolphins are often seen as intelligent and playful.

Elephants are known for their great memory when they see previous caretakers, and communal tendencies with their herd.

These natural associations make it easier for us to understand and analyze our own personalities.

This personality test is based on six (6) core traits that shape our personalities and influence how we make everyday decisions as follows:

Curiosity demonstrates how much a person likes to explore, discover, and understand the unknown. People high in curiosity generally are more adaptable, open-minded, and innovative.

Intelligence

Intelligence reflects how much a person likes to analyze, reason, understand, and problem solve. People high in intelligence generally are more careful, thoughtful, methodical, and strategic.

Sociability

Sociability indicates how much a person likes to interact, connect, and spend time with other people. People high in sociability tend to be more friendly, extroverted, collaborative, and emotional.

Kindness

Kindness refers to how much a person is empathetic, compassionate, and generous. People high in kindness are generally caring, supportive, and help people around them.

Independence

Independence shows how much a person likes autonomy, self-direction, and making decisions on their own. People high in independence are generally flexible, opportunistic, and private.

Energy

Energy reflects how much a person likes excitement, activity, and engaging with the people and environment around them. People high in energy tend to be active, busy, spontaneous, and the ones to take the initiative.

How to Answer the Questions

The What Animal Am I? Personality Test is designed to be short and sweet, with a simple, multiple choice format. The quiz features twenty (20) questions with six (6) possible answers. Each answer favors a core personality trait, that when combined, reveals what makes your animal uniquely you. For each question, simply click the response that best suits your personality or mood, and you'll be automatically shown the next. Take as long or as little as you like to answer, and most importantly, have fun!

Understanding Your Animal Match

Once you've answered all twenty (20) questions, and we process your responses, your animal match will be shown in all its plushie charm. You'll receive a brief personality summary, complete with the traits you share with your animal. As you read and compare yourself with your kindred critter, you may learn something new about your habits and personality. Or you may spot some differences that will inspire different responses should you retake the test (which you're free to do as often as you like).

Remember, there's no 'right or 'wrong' answer; everyone is unique and important in their own way, just like the animals that make up this beautiful planet we call home.

Your animal match can be thought of as a personality snapshot, a summarizing glimpse into the instincts and traits that come together to form your vibe.  

For example, if you are a Panda, you're likely intelligent, curious, and have a big heart. This can serve as a fun bit of validation, a reminder of what makes you special that can be carried through day-to-day life. If you're having a bad day, just remember the 'Panda' inside you and embrace those wonderful qualities.

Limitations to Personality Tests

Our personality test, while sure to give interesting results, can't provide all the answers to what makes each of us special. It can give fun insights and offer a chance for self-reflection, but unlike formal psychological evaluations used by professionals, our results are general summaries, prewritten and unable to account for an evolving mood and thought process. 

Everyone is different, even those who are both lions today could be a wolf and tiger tomorrow. Each of us has different perspectives and nuances that allow us to see the world in a way only we can. 

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the test take?

While the test usually only lasts a couple of minutes, we encourage thoughtful responses for the best results. But even if you take your time, it should only take five to seven minutes to complete. 

How accurate is the test?

The What Animal Am I? Personality Test won't know everything about you, as it is based solely on the responses to our provided questions. But based on the specific scenarios you'll be answering, it can be fairly accurate. Some of us here at Plushies Store have taken the test and have been surprised and amused with its overall accuracy. 

What if I don't like or agree with my results?

Not satisfied with your animal profile? That's okay. You're free to start over as many times as you like, rethinking your responses until you find the animal you most identify with. Or if you like, try some totally different answers to see all the animals you could be just for fun. 

Future Updates and Additional Animals

We're excited to say that this is only the beginning for the What Animal Am I? Personality Test. To keep things fresh and interesting, we'll be updating the test over time. New scenarios, and a possible 1-10 scale response, are in the pipeline for future updates. So make like an owl, and keep those eyes open for new changes. 

New animal profiles are also planned for future updates, which we hope will offer even more accurate results and cover more of the personality 'rainbow' that we all make together.
