Description

Indigo is a shy bear. He typically saves activities that require leaving his cave, like foraging for his favorite berries, at night when he can do so alone. As the moon rose one particularly dreamy summer evening, Indigo stepped out of his cave and sniffed the warm evening air. He paused to admire the stars and constellations above him, but he didn’t stop for long. Indigo was  hungry, and he headed right to the blueberry patch. Knowing too many would give him a tummy ache, Indigo promised to only eat one bucketfull. Besides, he should leave some blueberries on the bush for the other forest animals to forage. That night, in the pale moonlight, Indigo just couldn’t help himself. The blueberries were perfectly ripe, and he was hungry. Late into the night, Indigo finally had his fill. Just one more bucketfull, he thought, to make a giant blueberry pie in the morning. Then I’ll finally be done. With a bluish-purple stained snout, he stumbled back to his cave. It was well past noon when something woke Indigo. Someone was crying! Ignoring his persistent tummy ache, Indigo left his cave to investigate. A baby racoon whined as his mother tried to comfort him. “No more berries!” The baby raccoon blubbered. Indigo felt very sad. Had he really eaten all of the berries? He lumbered back to his cave and retrieved the bucket of berries he had collected. The smile on baby raccoon’s face was worth even more than a delicious blueberry pie.

When broken down, midnight blue is a mixture of magenta, cyan, and black. The famous french designer, Christian Dior, famously once said of the shade, “Midnight blue is the only color that can ever compete with black”.
