Blueberries, native to North America, have long seen a wide variety of uses. Their extreme natural color, saccharine taste, and nutritional value have seen them find themselves used in desserts, as dyes, and even as medicine. They're a natural fit for a macaron, a traditional baked good that's all about balance and pizazz, both of which a blueberry possesses in spades. A good macaron lives and dies by the equilibrium and contrast of its airy shell and creamy center, so it would be all too easy to use blueberries as the main ingredient for the filling. Using them for the shell, as seen here, is a bold choice that can result in divinity or disaster, depending on how it's handled. The blue beast featured here measures 14.6 inches in diameter, and has a silky exterior made of soft plush polyester. Just like a real macaron, there's a stark difference in texture between the outer part and the gooey center, and this toy plays into this by incorporating polypropylene cotton down for a squish that's so silky that it's almost slippery. Should your stuffy become dirty, a mild soap and warm water should be all it needs. Putting it through the extremes in temperature and handling that come with a machine cycle could result in shrinkage, fading, or warping.
