Your typical axolotl is nowhere near as tall as this stuffed one; in fact, they usually only grow to somewhere between 6 and 12 inches. Some of them can get as big as 18 inches, but even at that length, they're still quite the diminutive character. Their weight is also on the tiny side; most axolotls tip the scales at 2 to 8 ounces, a figure that's about the same as a donut, on the lower end, and about as hefty as a large apple, on the high end. 

This particular toy is much longer than a real axolotl, both proportionally and in actual measurement. These tall fellows come in two sizes; the small size is 26.4 inches, more than twice what an average axolotl measures up to. The large, meanwhile, stands 39.4 inches tall. No matter what size you order, you'll receive a tall boy or girl that's got a soft plush polyester exterior, with a filling made of a special polypropylene cotton down that's made to feel extra-silky when you squeeze it.
