In nature, giant pandas 🐼 may not actually climb rock walls, but they do climb trees, and they do so surprisingly well despite their large bodies and short limbs. Like acrobats, they pull with their front paws and push with their hindlegs in one fluid motion. Baby pandas usually start by climbing on their mothers and at about five months, will learn how to climb trees. This helps them escape predators and can allow them to rest in the sunshine. Male pandas have been seen relaxing by doing handstands against trees.
