There are many reasons for the intense emotional state we refer to as anger, wrath or rage. Anger can also mask 👹 the true emotion that we feel: sadness, shame, inadequacy, anxiety, powerlessness. Somehow, we perceive anger as a more acceptable emotion, or perhaps just feel more in control when expressing anger than what we are truly feeling deep inside. But anger will continue to rise to the surface as long as the underlying emotions are not recognized 🕵🏻 and given the space they need. The repercussions will be felt on both your physical and your mental health either way – might as well choose the better option!
