Raspberries have been with us for thousands of years in various forms. The popular modern raspberry, coming in a deep red bundle of little bumps with a hollow core, carries a sharp bite with just the right amount of sweetness. This has made it extremely popular in desserts, so it's only natural that it would find its way into the iconic macaron. These little layered pastries often come in a rainbow of colors and an extremely wide variety of flavors - they're almost like the jelly beans of the baking world. The iconic treat has origins in Italy, but was perfected in France, where it was given the cute shape and delicate mix of flavors and textures that it's known for today.
The macaron you'll receive is 14.6 inches in diameter, and is just as at home on your bed as it is on your shelf. It's got soft plush polyester on the outside, making it silky smooth to the touch, and stuffing made with polypropylene cotton down, making it squishy without letting it deform. Ensure that this little macaron never goes into the washer and dryer - it may shrink and fade. Instead, wash it by hand with warm water and mild soap to ensure that it stays poofy and vibrantly colored for years to come.
