Meet Pam, the Purple Alien. She's been in touch with Alan, who after having some ship trouble, decided to take up residence on Earth for a while. Pam checks her hologram messages every day, and eagerly awaits the latest news from her Earthbound companion. Although she never saw herself visiting our planet, Alan's hologram photos have begun to win her over. Fascinated by our landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty, Pam has finally decided to pay our world a little visit. Pam loves her home planet, but it's quite a departure from the lush forests and deep oceans of Earth. So keep an eye on the skies, Pam the Purple Alien is on her way! 👽

The origin of aliens as we think of them - small with large heads and big black eyes - date back to the early nineteenth century literature, with examples such as The Unknown Danger, by Gustav Sandgren. But the look became a widespread part of pop culture with the 1977 film, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Directed by the great Steven Spielberg. One of the first blockbusters to feature critters from outer space with skinny limbs and large almond shaped eyes, this movie is responsible for propelling these cosmic travelers into the mainstream.
