Poppy seeds have been a staple of baking for thousands of years, and make an excellent addition to a simple baked bun. The kind seen here, with a glossy top and a dusting of seeds and flour, is one of the easiest baked goods to make, yet among the most complex and consistently pleasing in flavor. Brushing the dough with an egg wash just before baking helps to create a satisfying crust that locks in moisture. This, in turn, creates a consistently soft and airy inner crumb, which is often enhanced with butter or milk, in both mixing and serving. Adding poppy seeds, especially when added near the end of the baking process so they toast nicely and embed into that dark crust, can give the dish a delightful crunch, and a pop of nutty flavor and aroma. 

This bun comes to you measuring 17.7 inches in diameter, with an exterior made of soft plush polyester, and stuffing made from silky polypropylene cotton down. A long loaf version is also available, which measures 19.6 inches long. Cleaning should be done by hand with mild soap and warm water. Putting this toy through a machine wash may cause fading and shrinkage, among other problems.
