The mango earns its title of the "King of Fruits" in more ways than one. India, for example, is the largest mango producer in the world, and relies heavily on the export of these popular fruits as part of a healthy economy. Mangoes alone contributed nearly 420 million Indian rupees to its 2021 fiscal year. That equals over 4 and a half million U.S. dollars. Annually, the mango capital of the world exports between 30 to 32 thousand metric tons of fruits. Believe it or not, this is roughly 1 percent of mangoes grown in India, as domestic demand consumes most of their supply.
