Class is in session at the Furry Friends Farm, and no student is more prepared than Otto the Fluffy Owlet. Otto wakes up bright and early, scarfs down his breakfast, and leaves the nest for his first day of school. He hopes to make a good impression, and even brings an apple for his teacher. But Otto doesn't need to worry, as he quickly rises to the top of his class. No homework assignment is too much for this scholarly critter, as he keeps his sights high and one day hopes to become a full fledged, academic professor. If he follows his dream, and keeps his grades up, he'll be wearing a cap and gown in no time. 🦉

Baby owls, or 'owlets', take their time when learning to fly, and use a more methodical approach than most birds. Once their muscles have developed enough for flight, they gradually leave the nest, first easing out onto neighboring branches. The mother owl still feeds and cares for her babies as they work their way to the ground, where they hop and practice take off. After about two months (more or less depending on species) the owlet takes its first flight. This initial journey is relatively short, but within just a few days, the owlet has enough practice to take longer trips where the sky is the limit.

Be sure to only wash your furry friend gently in warm water, as too cold or too hot can lead to shrinking or fading.
