Mosasaurus, or Blue Fin, as his parents still call him, is all grown up and ready to strike out on his own. He is an independent dino, eager to spread his fins and explore the ocean with his buddies. Mom and Dad knew this day would come, and although their son is more than capable of taking care of himself, they will still miss him. He'll always be their little Blue Fin. Mosasaurus loves his parents too, and promises to keep in touch, coming back to the Atlantic for the holidays. But today, he's gearing up for spring break in the Mediterranean. 🏖️

The mosasaurus didn't lay eggs, instead giving birth to live young. Their babies, just as tough as their parents, were born with their 'sea legs', immediately equipped to handle deep, open waters. Young mosasaurus were born with dense bones, a trait referred to as pachyosteosclerosis. This indicates they had neutral buoyancy, and a natural born talent for swimming, making the mosasaurus a fearsome, apex predator of the deep throughout the Cretaceous Period.

Our squishy mosasaurus is 9.3 inches, considerably more compact that its prehistoric counterpart, and is made with a plush polyester exterior. He is also filled to the fins with a feather light, polypropylene cotton blend, making him as soft as a pillow. Be sure to only clean your dinosaur hand puppet gently with warm water; too cold or too hot may cause shrinking or fading.
