Greetings from Mr. Moon, a nocturnal addition to our Micro Plushie Planet Keychain collection. Even though our little neighbor is associated with the starry night's sky, Mr. Moon likes to get his share of daylight too. In fact, he's sometimes an early riser, making his appearance with the sunrise when the mood hits him. When he's had plenty of coffee, Mr. Moon can stay out all day, hanging out with the Sun and the clouds. He loves watching birds and kites fill the sky in summer, and is especially delighted when someone looks up at just the right time to spot him in the day. But he's a night owl at heart, and Mr. Moon 🌖 feels most at home among his old friends like Orion and Ursa Major, who are always happy to welcome him back.

Although our moon fits into the satellite category of celestial bodies, it actually has a tail much like a comet. Consisting of neutral sodium atoms, the moon's tail extends at half a million miles and faces away from the Sun. Formed from sodium atoms which are blown from the moon's surface during meteoroid impacts, the tail takes shape as the atoms are propelled away from the Sun by the pressure from its radiation. This stunning phenomenon is only visible to the naked eye during a new moon phase, as our planet is passing through it.

As part of our Micro Planet Plushie Keychain collection, this little moon features a soft polyester exterior, and is filled from the core to the crust with a lightweight polypropylene cotton blend. When caring for your moon, be sure to remove the keychain before washing, although it may also be cleaned with gentle vacuuming or lint rolling.
