Koalas are marsupials, meaning they give birth to extremely undeveloped young, called joeys, that climb up into a pouch for further maturing. Koalas are arboreal and prefer to eat leaves🍃 from eucalyptus trees. Since there are few calories and nutrients in eucalyptus leaves, koalas can sleep😴 up to 20 hours a day! Perhaps because of their very rare gatherings in group, koalas do not have an official collective noun. Some have been suggested, such as a cling, a colony or a cuddle, but unlike many other animals, koalas remain solitary in nature and in name.
