The L1A1 self-loading rifle is a British interpretation of Belgium's 🇧🇪 FN FAL battle rifle. The design itself is the result of the 1950's Allied Rifle Commission, which was proposed to introduce a universal rifle and cartridge for use in all countries in NATO. Although the 7.62 NATO round was eventually introduced, a standard issue rifle for the cartridge never came to fruition. This left countries like Germany, England, and the U.S. to each create their own unique rifle to fit this cartridge. And England's L1A1 remained in service until 1994.

Also referred to as an auto-loading rifle, this fascinating design makes use of kinetic energy to reload cartridges into the chamber. When a cartridge is fired, the small explosion releases energy, and some of that energy is used to automatically insert a new cartridge into the chamber. The deceptively simple mechanism is the foundation for every fully and semi-automatic rifle manufactured today.

Plus it is stuffed to the brim with a fluffy blend of polypropylene cotton down for even more softness. Only wash your plushie gently in warm water, as too hot or too cold may cause fading or shrinking.
