Meet Duckling, the resident lifeguard at the Furry Farm pond. She's the best swimmer around, and thanks to her extra thick and fluffy coat, she never gets cold no matter how long she stays in the water. Many of the furry friends are also great swimmers, like Frog and Baby Mouse, so Duckling spends most of her shift relaxing and playing Marco Polo with the gang. These aquatic birds are naturally waterproof, thanks to their preen gland, which releases hydrophobic oil. During grooming, ducks will distribute the oil throughout their feathers, creating a kind of water-repellent surface that helps them stay buoyant. This special, waxy substance also helps them regulate body temperature, and keeps bacteria and fungi from collecting on their bodies. 

Part of the Furry Friends Collection, our darling ducky features an irresistibly fluffy coat, and measures at 7.8 inches tall. It is made with a soft polyester exterior, and is filled to the beak with a rich, polypropylene cotton down blend, as soft as a feather down pillow. When cleaning your plushie pal, be sure to only use warm water, as too cold or too hot could cause shrinking or fading.
