A certain wildly popular open-world, voxel-based, resource management and adventure simulator game added axolotls as an in-game creature back in 2021, and since then, the popularity of the species has soared. Increased fascination with axolotls, and demand to have them as pets, has driven extensive captive breeding. Sadly, it's still going to be an uphill battle to conserve and expand the species in their native habitat, which is currently a single lake in Mexico. 

This pixelated plush measures 11.8 inches long, making it just a bit bigger than most real axolotls. It comes in blue or pink. Both colorways have the same features; an exterior made of plush polyester, and filling made from specially treated polypropylene cotton down. Avoid washing your new low-poly friend in water that's too hot or too cold, as this can cause shrinkage and fading.
